BEHIND THE LENS: Live GPS Tracking

Friday, September 30th, 2011

Want to follow along on my adventures around the world? Not a problem. If you go to my website (www.colbybrownphotography.com) and click on the yellow link at the very top of your screen that says "I am currently in…" you will be taken to a screen that displays my location, via live GPS tracking, when I am out shooting on assignment or teaching a workshop. It works all over the globe, more accurately in some countries rather then others.

I am heading out to shoot in the Colorado Rockies for the next 6 days, starting this morning. This will be the best way to follow along :)

Follow Me Live Through Patagonia Via a GPS Feed

Wednesday, October 20th, 2010

Each year I have the privilege to explore some of the most beautiful locations on this planet and while everyone doesn’t get the oppertunity to travel the world, I hope that through my photography work and adventures, I help bring a piece of the world to your computer screen. For my next adventure through Southern Patagonia in Chile and Argentina, I have set up a live GPS feed that will be run through the Colby Brown Photography website which will allow you to follow along with my wife and I….step by step. The GPS feed itself will go active on October 22nd, 2010 which is when Sarah and I land in El Calafate, Argentina and begin our trip.

INSTRUCTIONS

Just click on the “I am currently in” link that is located at the top right of every page on this website.

You will then be taken to a new page that will showcase a track of my GPS coordinates that is updated a few times a day.

This trip is going to be an amazing experience and I am looking forward to sharing the photography work and stories that come out of this project. Enjoy!

Want live GPS tracking of my Haitian Photo Documentary?

Tuesday, June 1st, 2010

Tomorrow, Ray Tollison and I leave for Haiti to launch our new photo documentary, Lespwa Haiti – A Work In Progress. We are going to try to send back updates about the trip and our experience along the way, but as some of you may know, electricity…let alone having an internet connection, is never guaranteed in the developing world. We will however have a live GPS feed set up here on the Colby Brown Photography website which will allow you to follow along with us step by step. Every 15 minutes, starting tomorrow morning as I leave Denver, my SPOT GPS device will send out my gps coordinates as I travel throughout the nation of Haiti.

Just click on the “I am currently in” link that is located at the top right of every page on this website.

You will then be taken to a new page that will showcase a track of my GPS coordinates that is updated every 15 minutes (except when I sleep).

This trip is going to be an amazing experience and I am looking forward to sharing the photography work and stories that come out of this project. Enjoy!
