Lake Tahoe is the second deepest lake in the US and the tenth deepest in the world, measuring a maximum depth of 1,645 ft. Lake Tahoe is roughly 22 miles long and 12 miles wide with a shoreline that stretches for 72 miles. Known for it’s incredibly clear blue water, you will commonly see “Keep Tahoe Blue” stickers on local vehicles, an effort by a non profit organization to that stands up for conservation rights within the Tahoe Basin (Keep Tahoe Blue).
Although I was born in Berkeley, California and raised in the Bay Area, my family spent most of its spare time at my Grand Father’s house in Lake Tahoe. I have incredibly vivid memories of my time growing up in such an amazing and beautiful place, which says alot if you know anything about me and my long term memory. When I was planning my last trip to Yosemite National Park, I figured I would stick around for an extra 4 days and relive some of those fond memories. I hope you enjoy this small slice of Lake Tahoe…
