Welcome to

Colby Brown Photography

I became a photographer back in 2006, rapidly rising in the ranks of the photo industry. I  created my company, Colby Brown Photography, to offer my services to the public and corporations. I spent countless hours studying the latest photography techniques, exploring camera technology and photo editing. This learning curve opened my eyes to the world of photography education by exploring the world and using these techniques in the field.

I was leading photography workshops for National Geographic in South America, further spurring my love for both travel and photo education. Over the years, I have developed photography workshops that take you to wondrous locations around the globe while teaching the different disciplines of photography. Each workshop is carefully planned to offer the best scenic locations to create memorable adventure while allowing me to share my knowledge and experience.

Today, I am a professional photographer, photo educator and author living in Eastern Pennsylvania with my family. The meticulously researched  photography workshops I created, specialize in landscape, travel and wildlife photography, I am fortunate to work all over the globe, across all 7 continents, documenting various cultures, environments and species in pursuit of capturing life on this planet.  Following my heart and my passions, I dedicate a lot of my time to working with small NGOs, charities and initiative programs while on the road. If you have been looking for a way to give back, check out my NGO, The Giving Lens. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out and contact me. Thanks for stopping by! Enjoy!

Each year I run photography workshop adventures around the globe in some of the most incredible locations on the planet such as Patagonia, Iceland, Norway, Cuba, Africa and much more…

Throughout my career I have created a number of tutorials, video courses & e-books that cover everything from social media and business to post-processing (Adobe, Capture One & On1 Photo RAW). You can find these in the Photography Education section of this website.

Costa Rica Wildlife Experience
Costa Rica – WOW!

Costa Rica was my first Colby Brown trip and I’m sure it won’t be my last. As a beginner, I was the least experienced photographer in the group, but Colby was patient and taught me about so many of the functions on my Sony A7RIV. In addition, we all learned a lot about Marco and Flash Photography as we took photos of frogs and snakes close up and personal. So much fun!

Each day was different and well(…)

Alaskan Bald Eagle Winter Adventure
Great Bald Eagle Workshop!

The workshop was a great experience, the eagle activity was excellent. Colby does a great job in organizing this workshop. The accommodations were very nice. He is very helpful when at the shoots and back at the accommodations. He helps with camera setup and tips on capturing the shots you want. He also is very helpful with post processing techniques. This is the fourth workshop I’ve done with Colby(…)

Alaskan Bald Eagle Winter Adventure
The Eagles Have Landed!!

One of my favorite places to visit is Alaska. It offers such unique experiences for both wildlife and landscape. I was somewhat apprehensive about the lengthy ferry ride from Juneau to Haines. What I didn’t foresee was just how beautiful the scenery would be along the journey. Simply spectacular!! There are private cabins available if you just want to relax. The cafeteria on board also serves a delicious(…)
