About Me

Colby is a photographer, photo educator and author based out of Eastern Pennsylvania. Specializing in landscape, travel and wildlife photography, his body of work spans the four corners of the globe and covers all 7 continents. He has been a Sony Ambassador and Sony Artisan since 2015.

He is also the founder of the humanitarian photo organization The Giving Lens, which blends the art form of photography with the focus and purpose of giving back to those in need around the world.



  • Alaska will always have a special place in my heart. No matter how many times I bring groups of photographers up here to see bears, I can never seem to get enough of this amazing place. I am in the middle of yet another Brown Bear adventure with an amazing group of clients and I am loving every minute of it.   • Introducing the Brand New Sony a7R VI. I have been incredibly fortunate to have extensively used this new camera for the last three weeks photographing a wide variety of bird species around the US. Here are a few of my favorites!   • Owls are truly magnificent creatures! Every chance I get to photograph and experience one is special. This particular day I was out looking for Great Greys, otherwise known as the "Phantom of the North" up in Canada. Little did I know, a massive storm was rolling in, making for some very unique scenes. Sony a1 II w/ 400mm f/2.8 GM plus 1.4 TC. Shot in 4k, cropped down to 1080p and resized back to 4k for you.
  • Sometimes with nature...one can't help but fall in love at first sight ;) Guanaco (part of the Llama family), taken in Torres del Paine National Park in Southern Patagonia.
