About Me

Colby is a photographer, photo educator and author based out of Eastern Pennsylvania. Specializing in landscape, travel and wildlife photography, his body of work spans the four corners of the globe and covers all 7 continents. He has been a Sony Ambassador and Sony Artisan since 2015.

He is also the founder of the humanitarian photo organization The Giving Lens, which blends the art form of photography with the focus and purpose of giving back to those in need around the world.



  • Yesterday, we bid farewell to Jane Goodall, a truly remarkable woman whose legacy extends far beyond science. This pioneering scientist, anthropologist, and unwavering animal rights activist dedicated her entire life to the natural world. Her infectious passion was the spark that ignited the interest in Chimpanzees and Gorillas for so many, including myself. In her memory, let us fiercely cling to the incredible HOPE she shared with the world, a hope that is needed now more than ever. Jane, your light will be deeply missed. This reel is made up of older footage of Jane, the audio from one of her excellent talks in NYC, and a mixture of videos and still images that I took of wild chimpanzees in East Africa over the years. #JaneGoodall
  • This morning Sony announced the brand new 100mm f/2.8 GM Macro lens. I have been using this lens for close to two weeks now and I am super impressed with it for macro wildlife photography. It will absolutely be replacing my 90mm Macro!   • The Gaboon Bush Viper (Bits Gabonica) is a beautiful and fascinating venomous snake found in East Africa. Its massive head compared to other vipers is very iconic and important as it allows this viper to have the longest fangs of any viper on the planet (up to two inches in length). Snakes are vital to the ecosystems they inhabit. They deserve your respect more then your fear. Don't kill snakes!
