  • It is pretty incredible to see two young 🦒 "Necking". They push, shove and hit each other in a practice known as "Necking". Doing this as an adolescent allows them to practice and prepare for the battles ahead as they try to establish dominance as an adult.

  • There is always something special when it comes to experiencing a wild African elephant walking towards you. These gentle creatures are the surveyors of the African grasslands.

Have you seen an 🐘 in the Wild?
  • I would like to introduce one of the most beautiful Tanagers in the world, the Bay-headed Tanager. They can be found in parts of Central and South America and are often found in pairs. They are known for their vibrant blue, green and brown colors.

I just love the slow motion shots of the rain falling in the background.

  • Uyuni, Bolivia is home to the largest salt flats in the world, at nearly 4000 square miles. From January through March, you can often find shallow reflecting pools on the flats that provide unbelievable photo opportunities!

Shown here is a Sony a1 w/ 16-35 f/2.8 GM II lens.

Is this location on your Bucket List?
  • Sometimes as a wildlife photographer you are caught off guard, completely unprepared for a moment. This happened to me in Costa Rica in Corcavado National Park. My 600mm f/4 wildlife focused lens was simply no match for this wild Tapir that came out of the blue and surprised me while I was out photographing birds. In these moments, it is always best to go with your mobile phone!

  • There is nothing quite like spotting a wild 🐆 (Jaguar) walking along a river bank at dusk in Brazil. You better hope that you have a fast f/2.8 (or better) lens to capture enough light!

  • While many assume that the Jaguar rules the jungles of South America, I would argue that the Giant River Otters of the Pantanal are the true kings and queens of the area. With sharp claws, ferocious teeth and a bit of an attitude, these guys are the real deal! They can grow to over 6 ft in length and can be up the 75lbs.

Who would win in a fight?
  • What is the world's most adorable animal? It could be the Fennec Fox with its adorably massive ears. They are most commonly found in the deserts of Northern Africa. I found this one in Morocco's Sahara Desert.

  • What are all those small black dots on this Lions face? Watch till the end to find out....

Lions are incredible creatures and can be found all over large parts of Africa.
