  • I want to introduce you to one of the most unique birds on the planet...the Shoebill! With a height of over 5 ft and a wingspan of nearly 8 feet, the Shoebill is a massive, prehistoric-looking bird. You can't look at this creature and NOT think "Dinosaur"! These carnivorous birds tend to be solitary and are critically threatened, with only 5,000-8000 individuals left on earth. You can find them in freshwater swamps and marshes in East Africa, specifically Uganda, South Sudan and Zambia.

Be sure to save this reel for later and share it with any other bird lovers you might know!

  • Thank you all for the kind Birthday wishes. This is the third year in a row that I get to ring in a new year while exploring more of the incredible wildlife of India. I could think of a better way to celebrate my 44th trip around the sun!

I still have 7 days left on this current adventure to show my photo workshop clients why India is such an incredible wildlife destination. Who knows! Maybe one of you will join me in 2027 on my next India wildlife safari!
  • If you need a little break from reality and doom scrolling, enjoy the next 45 seconds of this adorable elephant having a mud bath in the middle of the African Bush.

  • I would like to introduce you to the Secretary Bird, one of the largest birds of prey in Africa. It's through birds like this that one begins to see just how closely birds are related to Dinosaurs.

  • Everyone loves a baby 🐘!
  • The stare of a large male lion will always send shivers down my spine!

Did you know that the name "Simba" actually means Lion in Swahili? Most of the names of the animals in The Lion King are direct translations.

  • The Sand Viper (otherwise known as Cerastes vipera) lives in the deserts of Northern Africa and spends its time hiding in the sand to catch it's prey. Always remember, many snakes like vipers are "venomous" and not "poisonous", but most snakes out there are totally harmless.

  • Elephants are INCREDIBLE! Did you know that 🐘 are the world's largest land animals? That they can reach up to 13ft tall and weigh over 14,000 lbs? What about that they use their ears for cooling or that their trunks have over 40,000 muscles.

What are your favorite African elephant facts?
  • The ongoing search for the world's most adorable animal continues with a return visit with the Fennec Fox, North Africa's most absurdly cute species.
