Don't Delay!
I had been delaying a trip to Alaska because I was overthinking the details and wasn’t sure of the best places to go for brown bear photography. A spot opened up for Colby’s “Alaskan Brown Bears” workshop and I jumped on it. The trip turned out to be fantastic! We were able to photograph a lot of bears (over 30 in one location) under the best conditions. Colby knows all the optimal places to go and has a great relationship with the lodge owners who treat everyone so well and make you feel like part of the family. Every day was an adventure as we headed out to the most bear dense locations by float plane. The itinerary is flexible to maximize viewing opportunities in case the bears are in unexpected locations. Colby, the lodge owners and guides are all so passionate about making sure you have the best trip possible. I did not know any of the other group members when we started but by the end I felt like I’d made some great new friends. It was a fun group to adventure with and hang out and collaborate with at the end of each day. Hiking through the Alaskan wilderness was amazing and the view of the landscapes from the float planes was beyond beautiful. If you want to experience the magnificence of Alaska all while photographing and filming the largest coastal brown bears on earth this is the trip to take!
