  • Any guesses on which animal this is?One of the things I love the most about spending so much time in Africa over the past decade is that I have been pushed to find new and creative ways to document and photograph the amazing creatures that call this continent home. If you have ever been on Safari, you know the challenges of the wildlife turning around just when you want to photograph them...so I decided to run with it and get creative.

This is the first of a larger series of posts I will be making over the coming weeks showcasing this new creative endeavor and to be honest...it was so much fun trying to get the perfect shots for this series!

  • There is something incredible about watching Bald Eagles fight over salmon up in Alaska. These powerful creatures have massive talons that are razor sharp, and when you mix that the aerial acrobatics that often accompany these fights, any wildlife photographer would have a field day with trying to take these kinds of images.

  • Currently I am traveling throughout Zambia and enjoying a complete lack of access to the crazy news cycle back at home in the US. We all need a break from the insanity from time to time to keep our sanity. This photo of a Red Eyed Green Tree Frog from Costa Rica will be me when I start getting ready to head back home in early October!

  • One of the highlights of exploring Komodo National Park back in May was finding this incredible Timor Python (Python Timoriensis). Pythons are nonvenomous constrictors that end up crushing their prey rather than injecting them with venom like a viper. They tend to eat small rodents, birds and other reptiles and coincidentally, aren't actually found on the island of Timor...regardless of their namesake. They guys are absolutely NOT a threat to humans and should be left alone to do what they do best...give big hugs!

  • Up in Canada you can find a place called "Abraham Lake". The lake is known for the methane bubbles that are released from the lake bed throughout the year, but in winter, those bubbles get trapped as the lake slowly begins to freeze over. As the methane bubbles freeze, they flatten out and make for some pretty interesting patterns in the ice. Such an amazing destination for photographers!

  • It's almost Jaguar time once again! Every year I head to Brazil to explore the Pantanal region of this amazing country to look for these fascinating creatures. Jaguars are easily one of my favorite big cats on the planet. Last year's clients got a chance to have 50 jaguar sightings in 8 days. I am hoping this year I can break that personal record!

  • Want to know what the most beautiful snake in the world looks like? This is the Lesser Sunda Islands Pit Viper, otherwise known as Trimeresurus Insularis. Last month I went to Indonesia solely to photograph this beautiful species that can only be found on three remote Islands in the world. Thanks to my good friend @jameshuntphotography
for joining me on this adventure!

What do you think? World's most beautiful snake?

  • The latest volcanic eruption in Iceland is a sight to see! Located in the Reykjanes Peninsula, this eruption is part of the same Fagradalsfjall volcanic area that brought the eruptions in 2021 and the short-lived eruption in 2022. Some say this area will continue to have eruptions for the next 50-100 years given the size of the magma chamber below. I can never get enough footage of these incredible forces of nature!
  • As I sit here in Iceland waiting for the current erupting volcano to be accessible again, I decide to take a look back at the last eruption I witnessed here in Iceland back in 2021.
