I became a photographer back in 2006, rapidly rising in the ranks of the photo industry. I created my company, Colby Brown Photography, to offer my services to the public and corporations. I spent countless hours studying the latest photography techniques, exploring camera technology and photo editing. This learning curve opened my eyes to the world of photography education by exploring the world and using these techniques in the field.
I was leading photography workshops for National Geographic in South America, further spurring my love for both travel and photo education. Over the years, I have developed photography workshops that take you to wondrous locations around the globe while teaching the different disciplines of photography. Each workshop is carefully planned to offer the best scenic locations to create memorable adventure while allowing me to share my knowledge and experience.
Today, I am a professional photographer, photo educator and author living in Eastern Pennsylvania with my family. The meticulously researched photography workshops I created, specialize in landscape, travel and wildlife photography, I am fortunate to work all over the globe, across all 7 continents, documenting various cultures, environments and species in pursuit of capturing life on this planet. Following my heart and my passions, I dedicate a lot of my time to working with small NGOs, charities and initiative programs while on the road. Not sure what I was looking for other than an adventure and some photography time when I signed up, I was surprised with the amount of knowledge I took away from this trip. Learning what to look for, how to delve deeper into your compositions and better post processing tips have all truly changed my photography for the better.
Bolivia might have been the best trip I’ve ever joined. I expected to take one or two types of photos but it ended up being the trip with the most diverse photo opportunities. Sunrise, sunset and astro shots on the Salar are a given, but my favorite part was the Siloli Desert at night photographing up unique rock formations with the Milky Way. I came out of this trip with some of my best photos ever.
This workshop was my first, but certainly not my last. Everything is well organized so you do not have to develop plans of where and when to go. Colby and Pedro have been coming to Patagonia annually for years and know all the iconic photography spots that do not need too much physical effort to get to.
